Arts in Business Awards Application


1.     Nominees must be an Alamance County Business.  Foundations, individual philanthropists, government agencies and arts organizations are not eligible to compete. Self-nominations are accepted.

2.     Recipients of the Arts in Business Award must have a significant impact on the arts through a variety of activities or through a single project of significant magnitude.


Award decisions will be made based on the information contained in the nomination form.  The Arts in Business Award recipient will be recognized at the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting in January, 2017.  Nominations must be received by Alamance Arts by 5 pm on Monday, January 16, 2017.

Distributes funds for arts programming, primarily through local arts councils, to all of North Carolina’s 100 counties using a per capita based formula. Funds are distributed by the three types of Grassroots Partners: Designated County Partners, Provisional County Partners, and Regional Arts Partners.


Funded by the North Carolina Arts Council and matched locally by participating counties (Alamance, Caswell, Guilford, Randolph, and Rockingham), the Central Piedmont Regional Artist Hub Program annually offers a limited number of grants to residents of these counties to further their development as professional artists at any stage in their career.

Eligible artistic disciplines are music (both classical and contemporary), dance, visual arts (painting, photography, sculpture and pottery), film/video, drama, and literature. Applicants must submit samples of their work and provide a narrative description of their career development plans. Grant recipients are required to sign a contract and file an evaluation at the completion of their project.


Art Instructors: We accept proposals from new instructors year round. We do various programs in schools annually and Summer camp classes that require artist teachers. Along with the proposal, new instructors must submit a resume, references, and examples of their own creative work. Proposals should also include a budget so that we may determine the overall feasibility of the class.
