BARN QUILT PAINTING CLASSES
Create your own 24" x 24" barn quilt! Educator and instructor Beth Ball is hosting barn quilt painting classes to benefit Alamance Arts. Cost is $50 per person, including all materials. Barn quilts are created on pre-primed plywood and can be hung inside or outside. Choose your own pattern and color choices (see pattern options here) and learn how to draft the pattern onto the plywood. All paints are latex based. BEGINNING COLORED PENCIL CLASSES
FIVE SESSIONS ALTOGETHER: WEDNESDAYS, jULY 10, 17, 24, 31, AUGUST 7, 10 A.M.-12 P.M.
This course is designed for youth - rising sixth graders and up. Come learn the basics of creating fine art with colored pencils. Students will learn about tools and supplies, different pencil strokes, and how to manage pencil pressure for best results. Colored pencil techniques such as layering, blending and burnishing will be taught as well as some basic color theory. Youth will complete class exercises and small studies to learn and practice techniques. Note: This is not a coloring class. Click here for more information.
Cost is $130, including all materials. This class is hosted by artist and educator Carolyn Langley at Alamance Arts.
FLUID ART CLASSES
Instructor Kay Brooks is teaching a unique fluid art technique known as “Flip Cup” or “Paint Pour.” Each class varies in subject matter. All materials are included and paints are latex-based. Parent/Child class. Children must be 8 years and up. Together you will create two 14” x 16” canvases with the “Paint Pour” technique. All supplies are provided. Cost is $40 altogether (includes both adult and child). Location: Mebane Arts and Community Center.

MARBLING PAPER CLASS
Thursday, August 1, 2-4 p.m.
Delve into the magical world of marbling. Learn to create amazing designs and patterns on paper using the ancient technique of decorating paper known as marbling with Artist and Instructor Annette Bartlett-Golden. When droplets of paint fall on a specially prepared water mixture, they float and can be manipulated into a unique design which can be transferred onto paper. Students will experiment making many pieces of marbled paper which they may take home at the end of class. Marbled papers can be used in craft projects, as stationary, or enjoyed as a unique piece of art. No experience is necessary. Cost is $45 per person, including all supplies.
SILK SCARF DYEING CLASSES
Tuesday, august 20, 6-8:30 p.m.
Create a silk scarf (8" x 72") using a tissue paper technique. Hosted by silk artist Pam Spurrier, the cost is $35 per person, including all supplies. This class is a great fit for children with participating parents. Location: Alamance Arts. Please call to register: 336-226-4495.
CULINARY ARTS CAMP - SOLD OUT
tuesday, july 16 - friday, july 19, 2019, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. daily
Rising sixth through ninth graders are invited to attend Culinary Arts Camp July 16 - 19, 2019, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. daily, at the Mebane Arts and Community Center. Campers will learn about healthy food preparation, baking, local produce/farm-to-table, kitchen safety, wellness and mindfulness, and leadership. All food and materials are included. Campers may bring their own snacks if needed. Early bird registration is $125 per camper and will continue through June 15. After June 15, registration is $150 per camper. Space is limited.

MEBANE ART CAMP - SOLD OUT

Alamance Arts will host an Art Camp at the Mebane Arts and Community Center for rising third through sixth graders July 22 - 26, 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. daily. The camp will teach children about visual arts, music, theatre and expressive yoga through a variety of workshops and performances. All materials are included. Campers may bring their own snacks. Registration is $65 per camper.

FLORAL ARRANGING CLASS
