Coloring Pages For All Ages!

Coloring pages are no longer just for kids.

These days many adults are coloring too, and not just to give them a temporary return to the days of their youth.

There are many good therapeutic reasons why adult coloring pages are all the rage these days. Relieving stress and anxiety during these uncertain times is high on the list, but other reasons include sparking creativity, and they can even be a form of meditation.

We are very thankful to our local artists who have donated their time and talents to offer coloring sheets. Please enjoy these printable sheets, and we encourage you to post your masterpieces on Alamance Art’s Facebook page, or email them to arts@alamancearts.org.

Beth+Hill-+flamingo.jpg

Beth Hill

After a formal education in art, Hill discovered a great love of painting, explaining her choice of media (oil paints, acrylic paints, and mixed media) and subject matter (animal images). She enjoys the challenge of representing various textures, such as fur and feathers, through loose brushstrokes and experimental paint applications. Since her retirement from 30 years of teaching art in the NC public schools, she has participated in numerous group and solo shows, and accepted private and public commissions. She is represented at several of our state’s Arts Council galleries as well as numerous private galleries. Because of her love for animals, most of her paintings include nature and animal imagery.

She is a versatile artist with experience in a variety of mediums, including acrylics, oils, pastels, pen and ink, and more recently – watercolors. Barn by Pat Scheible.jpg

Pat Scheible

Scheible was a research scientist in biology for many years before she realized that her true calling was art. A graduate of the Institut Guegan in France, she has also studied with teachers all over the US. Her decorative painting business, Painting Specialties, is regionally and nationally known. Pat and her husband have made their home in Mebane since 1976. Scheible’s aim is to transport viewers to a place of amazement and delight. Artists have taken themselves too seriously for a century or more, so she tries to lead us back to the time before history, when the artist was a magician and shaman, able to open doors to new realities. Her twin passions are color and the vanishing local landscape. Some of her favorite subjects are familiar local buildings, especially barns which are disappearing.

Her mixed media works on canvas have been inspired by several trips to Scotland and Ireland. Her travels took her to ancient landscapes, stone circles, archeological digs and historic places. Towery has won numerous awards for her mixed media and watercolor works. Her paintings of Japanese Koi have been published in KOI USA, a national magazine.

Antje+Shiflett-+sunflower.jpg

Antje Shiflett

The great part about being a painter is that one never stops learning and changing, Shiflett said. She loves painting landscapes and flowers, but what or how she paints has a lot to do with which color excites her at this moment, the music she listens to, or which palette knife fits her hand today.  Shiflett was born in a small town on the North Sea in Germany and lived in many other countries before she settled in Alamance County. Painting in oils, she creates landscapes and florals inspired by memories of places she has lived as well as her current surroundings. Antje has successfully participated in many art exhibitions and had numerous one woman shows; her style is her own and her palette recognizable.
