Ever read something so funny you had to wipe tears away or just had to share it with your friends? Comedy writing may feel like magic, but in this workshop we will break it down. Participants will learn the basics of what makes writing humorous including focus on subject matter, beats, rhythm, word choice, and editing. Participants will read examples of comedic and write their own material. Comedy writing is not just about the writing though. Comedy writing is about delivery as well. Participants will bring their work to life by performing pieces of their writing on the classroom stage. No previous writing or stage experience needed. Instructed by Dr. Joseph Richards. Class for ages 18+. Minimum of 5 registrants for class to be held. Class held at Alamance Arts - 213 S. Main St in Graham.
